Create and manage a hosting email mailbox

Use your hosting service’s mailbox controls and correct mail-client settings.

Before you start

Have a provisioned hosting service with email capability and a domain configured for its mail provider.

Steps

  1. Open the hosting service and its Email accounts page or hosting panel.
  2. Create a mailbox using the desired local part, a strong password, and a quota within your plan.
  3. Read the provider’s displayed secure incoming/outgoing server settings and use those exact values in your mail client.
  4. Send and receive a test message from an external mailbox.
  5. Monitor quota and update mail clients if you change the mailbox password. Remove an obsolete mailbox only after exporting important messages.

Check the result

External messages reach the mailbox and authenticated outbound mail succeeds.

Troubleshooting

Check quota, MX records, secure ports, credentials, and spam folders. Do not guess mail hostnames or use your console API key as a mailbox password.
