Upload documents and ask questions with ispeed ctl

Use the CLI to inspect a DocVault service, upload a document, and query indexed content.

Before you start

Authenticate the CLI and select the account that owns the DocVault service. The CLI upload supports files up to 32 MiB, while the service plan can impose a smaller limit.

Steps

  1. List services and locate the DocVault service ID.
  2. Inspect docs status to confirm the service is available.
  3. Upload a supported document and list documents to find its document ID and indexing status.
  4. Wait for successful indexing, then create question.json with doc_id and a specific question.
  5. Submit docs ask and read the returned answer. Verify important facts against the original document.

Example

ispeed-ctl docs status SERVICE_ID
ispeed-ctl docs upload SERVICE_ID --file document.pdf
ispeed-ctl docs documents SERVICE_ID
ispeed-ctl docs ask SERVICE_ID --body-file question.json

Check the result

The uploaded document becomes ready and the question is scoped to that service and document.

Troubleshooting

Uploading does not mean indexing is finished. Wrong account selection, unsupported formats, file limits, or unavailable workers can prevent processing.
