Understand on demand hourly and subscription monthly billing

Read usage charges, recurring subscriptions, wallet reservations, and storage costs correctly.

Before you start

Review the order summary and the service’s billing details. Hourly on-demand rates and monthly subscription prices represent different billing modes.

Steps

  1. For an on-demand service, use the displayed hourly rate and measured usage to understand costs; do not treat an hourly rate as a monthly subscription.
  2. For a subscription service, check the plan’s recurring interval and included features. Usage outside the plan may have separate charges where displayed.
  3. For GPU rentals, review GPU compute and running or stopped storage rates. Stopping compute does not necessarily remove storage charges.
  4. For managed AI, distinguish reserved funds from the settled actual charge; unused reservations are released after completion or failure according to the request status.
  5. Open Billing usage, wallet transactions, and invoices to reconcile charges by resource or project. Save receipts and identifiers when requesting help.

Check the result

The bill matches the billing mode, elapsed usage, storage, and plan terms shown for that service.

Troubleshooting

An available wallet balance can differ from a gross balance because of unsettled obligations or reservations. Do not assume stopping or archiving a resource cancels every recurring charge.
