Connect an S3 client to iSpeedHost object storage

Configure AWS CLI or another S3-compatible client with your service’s endpoint and bucket.

Before you start

Install a trusted S3 client and retrieve the endpoint, region, bucket, access key, and secret key from your own service details.

Steps

  1. Create a separate local credential profile for the storage service. Enter keys through the client’s secure configuration flow rather than putting them in shared scripts.
  2. Set the endpoint and region exactly as displayed for your service.
  3. List your bucket and upload a small non-sensitive test file.
  4. Download the test object and compare it with the original.
  5. Use the same endpoint/profile for future transfers and keep your local credentials file private.

Example

aws configure --profile ispeedhost-storage
aws --profile ispeedhost-storage --endpoint-url YOUR_SERVICE_ENDPOINT s3 ls s3://YOUR_BUCKET/
aws --profile ispeedhost-storage --endpoint-url YOUR_SERVICE_ENDPOINT s3 cp sample.txt s3://YOUR_BUCKET/sample.txt

Check the result

The client lists and transfers objects from the correct bucket using its service credentials.

Troubleshooting

An AccessDenied response can indicate wrong credentials, bucket, or permissions. Connection or certificate errors can indicate the wrong endpoint. Do not use a private infrastructure address copied from a log.
