Connect to your VPS using SSH or the web console

Access the server with its assigned address and use the console when networking is unavailable.

Before you start

Wait until provisioning has completed. Have the root credential or configured SSH key and the VPS’s current IPv4 address.

Steps

  1. Open the VPS service details and verify its running state and assigned address.
  2. Connect with an SSH client using the server address and appropriate operating-system user.
  3. Verify the host fingerprint using a trusted channel. Use the provisioned credential or a key you installed on that server.
  4. After initial access, update the operating system, create a non-root administrative user, and configure secure SSH and firewall rules.
  5. If SSH fails and the service offers a web console, open it from the service page to inspect boot status and networking.

Example

ssh root@YOUR_VPS_IPV4

Check the result

You can authenticate to the correct VPS and run basic commands.

Troubleshooting

Check the running state, firewall, SSH daemon, username, and key before resetting anything. The VPS root credential is different from your console sign-in or API key.
